Ein Lied für Linda von Chris and Megan

[Verse 1]
Linda, you raised the two of us on your own
Night shifts at the hospital, then home before dawn
Still you made pancakes every Saturday
And somehow made a hard day feel like a holiday

[Chorus]
Linda, Linda, you gave us your heart
Linda, Linda, you made a home from the start
Chris and Megan, we carry your love
In every good thing we do, in every road we’re on

[Verse 2]
That blue pickup truck was your rolling front porch
Country, bluegrass, folk, and pop, you sang it all
Windows down, your voice above the road
You made every mile feel like a place to go

[Chorus]
Linda, Linda, you gave us your heart
Linda, Linda, you made a home from the start
Chris and Megan, we carry your love
In every good thing we do, in every road we’re on

[Bridge]
You never asked for a medal or a thank-you
Just a little time, a little help, a little truth
And if we’ve got a steady hand, a kind word to give
It’s because you showed us how to live

[Final Chorus]
Linda, Linda, you gave us your heart
Linda, Linda, you made a home from the start
Chris and Megan, we carry your love
In every good thing we do, in every road we’re on
Linda, Linda, today we say it plain
We’re grateful for the life you gave, and for the love that remains

[Outro]
Linda, we love you, Mom
