A song for Jake from Chloe

[Verse 1]
Jake, I still remember that little mini-golf course
You lost every hole on purpose, laughing as we kept score
You let me take the victory, then walked me to my car
I didn’t know that night how close you’d get to my heart

[Pre-Chorus]
Now thirty candles wait for you
And I have one thing I want you to know

[Chorus]
Jake, you make the ordinary feel like home
Jake, wherever you are is where I want to go
From Sunday tacos, every bite made just right
To your off-key songs as we drive through the night
I’m Chloe, and I’m lucky that I get to say
Happy birthday, Jake—I love you more each day

[Verse 2]
When the flu had me down, you drove four hours through the snow
With a warm bowl of soup and that look that says, “I know”
You never needed grand gestures, never asked for a thing
You just showed up with your whole heart, steady as spring

[Pre-Chorus]
Now thirty candles wait for you
And I have one thing I want you to know

[Chorus]
Jake, you make the ordinary feel like home
Jake, wherever you are is where I want to go
From Sunday tacos, every bite made just right
To your off-key songs as we drive through the night
I’m Chloe, and I’m lucky that I get to say
Happy birthday, Jake—I love you more each day

[Bridge]
Here’s to all the years we haven’t seen
All the little things between
If you’re still singing every wrong note
I’ll be right here, singing along

[Final Chorus]
Jake, you make the ordinary feel like home
Jake, I’d choose you anywhere we go
For every Sunday, every mile, every ride
For the way you show up and stay by my side
I’m Chloe, and I’m lucky that I get to say
Happy thirtieth birthday, Jake
I love you more each day

[Outro]
Happy birthday, Jake
I love you more each day
