Can I download songs from Udio right now?

As of September 2026, Udio says downloads are paused on every plan while its licensed platform rolls out, with no confirmed date for their return. Here, every song comes with an MP3 and a WAV.

No. Udio is its own company and product. This is a separate generator built on the Suno model family; the page exists because people comparing the two usually want the same thing — a finished song they can keep.

Does it do vocals and lyrics, or only instrumentals?

Both. Describe the song for sung vocals and written lyrics, paste your own lyrics to have them sung, or switch to instrumental for no vocals at all.

Can I use the songs commercially?

Songs made on a paid pack are yours to use commercially under our terms. Free-credit generations are for personal use. The terms page has the exact wording; it is short.

What changed at Udio

Downloads paused

After its October 2025 settlement with Universal Music, Udio switched off song downloads on every plan while it builds a licensed platform. It has said some form of export may return after that launch; no date has been confirmed.

A tight free tier

Udio’s published free plan is 100 credits a month, gated to 10 a day and three full songs a day. Standard is $10 a month for 2,400 credits, Pro $30 for 6,000.

A walled garden is coming

Udio has settled with Universal, Warner, Merlin and Kobalt and is rolling out a jointly licensed platform through 2026. That is good news for rights, and it means the product is being rebuilt around listening inside Udio rather than taking files out.
