Is the click accurate?

Yes — each click is scheduled ahead of time on the audio clock, not on a page timer, so it does not drift the way a naive setInterval does.

Can I set the tempo by ear?

Tap the tempo button in time with the music and the BPM follows your taps. The tap tempo tool does the same thing on its own page.

Does it keep running in the background?

It runs while the tab is open. Some browsers throttle hidden tabs, so keep it visible while you practise.
