A song for Lily from Mom and Dad

[Verse 1]
Lily, five candles are waiting for you
We saved you the biggest slice, too
You race through the kitchen with strawberry cheeks
And tell us your plans for the week

[Pre-Chorus]
You make every ordinary day
A little more surprising your way

[Chorus]
Lily, Lily, today is your day
We love how you laugh and how you play
Lily, Lily, our bright birthday star
You make our hearts happy just as you are

[Verse 2]
Your purple dinosaur Bobo comes along
For breakfast, for stories, for every song
You put strawberries on toast, then your peas
And grin like you’ve solved mysteries

[Pre-Chorus]
When clouds leave a puddle behind
You’re already first in the line

[Chorus]
Lily, Lily, today is your day
We love how you laugh and how you play
Lily, Lily, our bright birthday star
You make our hearts happy just as you are

[Bridge]
We’ll hold your hand, then let you fly
We’ll cheer for every question why
From Mom and Dad, a wish comes true:
The whole wide world feels lucky with you

[Final Chorus]
Lily, Lily, five years today
We love you more than words can say
Lily, Lily, our bright birthday star
Our sweet, brave girl, just as you are

[Outro]
Happy birthday, Lily, we love you so
Wherever your little adventures go
