A song for Ethan from Ava

[Verse 1]
Ethan, we have been together two years now.
I still count Fridays by the same movie.
You watched from your room, I watched from mine,
then we laughed at the same tired joke.

[Verse 2]
One year stretched between our ordinary days.
We texted all day, still you wrote by hand.
Your letters said what our fast messages couldn't;
I kept each one close, then read them again.

[Chorus]
Ethan, you made the far feel near.
Ethan, you were here, year after year.
Ethan, I choose you, plain and true.
Every Friday brought me back to you.

[Verse 3]
In June, you moved into my city.
I said your name and you were right there.
No screen to share the movie through,
just your laugh beside mine, still the best part.

[Chorus]
Ethan, you made the far feel near.
Ethan, you were here, year after year.
Ethan, I choose you, plain and true.
Every Friday brought me back to you.

[Outro]
Ethan, my Valentine.
Ethan, my Valentine.
Ethan, my Valentine.
