Suno v6 vs v5.5
Suno retired v4 through v5.5 when v6 launched, so this is not really a choice between two live models. It is a question about what you lose and what you gain — and there is one situation where the older one is still the answer.

So which one should you use?
For a new song: v6. Not because of a feature v5.5 lacks, but because v5.5 is discontinued and the three v6 variants give you somewhere to go when the first take is wrong — Mini to try five ideas cheaply, Wild when the safe arrangement is the problem.
For a song you already made: leave it alone. You cannot re-render an old track on a new model — extending, covering and section replacement all want the model to match the source audio, so a v5.5 song stays a v5.5 song. That is a constraint of the API, not a policy of ours.
And the honest caveat: the differences between these two are not the kind you hear in a blind test on every song. The three-way choice within v6 will change your results more than moving off v5.5 did.
